With Paris being such a large city it is natural that there are a number of options open to the tourist when it comes to where to book holiday accommodation. Below is a brief guide to some of these areas.
Champs Elysees
This is one of the most famous areas of Paris and it truly does have it all in terms of attractions and provisions for the tourist. There are a string of restaurants, coffee shops 
and bars along the Champs Elysees from which you can enjoy the architecture and statues which dominate the area.
St Germain Des Pres
This is home to the university meaning that there are plenty of glorious buildings mixed in with small streets, shops and cafes. There is plenty of nightlife here, so this, added to the strong student presence, perhaps makes this area more appealing to the younger tourist.
Montmartre
This is a great option for couples or families looking for a quieter, more romantic area of the city which is still in close proximity to the main attractions. The Montmartre area is located on a hill and, as such, offers glorious views of Paris.
Le Marais
Near to Le Louvre museum, this is a great area to centralise yourself from all of the major tourist attractions. This is also the best area for those on a shopping trip, with hundreds of modern shops mixed in amongst the traditional buildings.
Bastille
This is the best place to stay for party goers in the city. There are a whole host of bars and nightclubs which are buzzing at all times of year. You will of course also be in walking distance of the Bastille Saint-Antoine.
